Selection Criteria for the “Dream Team”

As in any project, the cooperation among the team members is what determines whether a project is a success or a failure. As such, I considered myself lucky because I had been given the authority to handpick my team members for this project. In recruiting the members, there are certain criteria that should be met by the team members. Below are the following criteria:

Physical characteristic
Applicant should be able to work under pressure and overtime if the need arises.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants’ should have a sound academic background in their respective disciplines.
Applicant who has in-depth knowledge or experience in his/her particular field of expertise would be given priority.
Communications Skills
Applicants should possess good interpersonal and intrapersonal communications skills
Interests
Applicants should have a keen interest in the project

Circumstances
Applicants should be able to travel to another location shoukd the need arise.

After going through a few rounds of interviews with successful applicants, I finally decided to choose the following people to assist me in this project. I have not only taken into consideration of their academic background but also their personal traits which make them very suitable candidates for this project.

Full Time Employees

Project Manager

Ms Wu Kim Har

Attached to the Software Development Division (SDD), IS Department.

She has had a few experiences handling projects and she is a go-getter who makes sure things get done in a timely manner.

Programmer

Ms Dipti Joshi

Attached to the Software Development Division (SDD), IS Department.

Dipti has been in the industry for a very long time. She has immense experience in programming and it would not be wrong to say that she is an anchor programmer.

Systems Engineer

Ms Ng Choy Moon

Attached to the Computer Integrated Division (CID), IS Department.

Moon is an IT post graduate with a sound Engineering background. She is a very good troubleshooter and she has been the main stay of the CID department

Technician

Mr. Lim King Kong

Attached to the Computer Integrated Division (CID), IS Department.

K.K. Lim is a diploma holder in Engineering with a strong set of technical skills. He attends to problems that arise and if he is not able to solve them, then he works together with our Network Engineer, Mr. Varun Badola. In short, it can be said that K.K. Lim and Varun complement each and other where their job function is concerned.

Part Time Employees

Network Engineer

Mr. Varun Badola

Attached to the Network Development Division (NDD).

Varun is a qualified CCNA and CCNP graduate. He has in depth knowledge on the workings of networks and he is also a very dynamic young individual.

Programmer

Ms. Rebecca Lee

Attached to the Software Development Division (SDD), IS Department.

Rebecca is a final year IT undergraduate with strong academic credentials. She is also a very keen learner with an aptitude for programming.

QA Consultant

Mr. Eric Chong

Attached to the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department (QAQC).

Eric has been in this field for over 20 years now. Nobody knows it better than Eric in this field. He is a stern, no nonsense type of man who has successfully implemented QAQC

methods over the past 20 years.

Motivator

Mr. Farhan Akhtar

Attached to the Human Resources Department (HR).

Farhan is a young, energetic and dynamic individual with a background in Mass Communications. He is an experienced and excellent team motivator who easily perks up the spirit of those around him.
